swatches
  • Hi olegnax,

Am interested in the theme and have the following questions:

    1. Does the colorswatch also work for images of the products instead of the color swatches and switches the main image as demonstrated in the demo?

    2. Will this theme be easy to replace our current theme without complications?

    Please let me know.

    Hi James,

    1. In short, yes.
Colorswatch is replacing default drop down with images. That is all what colorswatches does. If you'll check the code of the page you'll notice that those color boxes actualy are images. You can add any image there, i.e. an image of size like in this product:

Main image switched on our preview because it is configurable product.

    2. It is not possible to guarantee that one theme will work well after another theme. I would suggest to hire a developer to make a smooth installation.
  • Hi Steve,

    Thanks for the prompt response.

We have a lot of products therefore a lot of images and this is an important aspect in our store we would like to implement, do we just upload the images in a simple product of a configurable product and the colorswatch will replace and switch the image automatically at product front page if customer makes a selection or the process is more complicated (Need to determine amount of work our team needs to process this in terms of time)? Also, does this functionality work on simple products?

Did you paste a link in your previous answer for a demo? If you did then it is not showing and it would be nice to preview.

In addtion, does your team provide a developer to install the theme for a charge once purchased?

Thanking you in advance for the clarification to the above.

    Hi James,

    Sorry, here is the link:
    http://athlete.olegnax.com/light/index.php/antipodium-high-life-denim-skirt-short.html

    The process is:
    1. The baseic step is to create a configurable product with its sub products and different images.
    2. After that you need to create a custom attribute for this product with different values.
    3. Set images for each attribute value for this product.

So if you have 5 different looks of a product you will need to create a configurable product with 5 subproducts, custom attribute with 5 values and set images for each value.
Image for colorswatch are not automatically created, you need to upload them and set as attribute value.

So if you want to have different colorswatch images for each product you will have to create a custom attribute for each product.
